Panama vs Cuba in the Gold Cup 2013 soccer tournament takes place on Saturday afternoon with both teams looking to progress to the semi-finals of the CONCACAF competition. The match is scheduled to kick off at 3.30 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).
Cuba came through to the quarter-finals with a 4-0 win against lowly Belize, and they will be hoping to continue where they left off with another good performance today against Panama.
Cuban midfielder Ariel Martinez has told CONCACF.com: "For me, it was like winning the World Cup. It was a great achievement for us and made very happy."
Cuba head coach Walter Benitez has said, "We believe that this was the best game in the career of the national team. We definitely felt very, very excited to get this result. We felt very proud of what we did tonight. The players knew that was one of the things that were going to help us. We embraced our Cuban jersey, our Cuban flag."
He added: "As soon as we got to the locker room, the minister of sports gave us a call. I was talking to him. He was congratulating the whole team. We were all happy. I communicated that to the guys so everybody was so happy they were in touch as soon as we won."
That win for Cuba came after they lost to Costa Rica 3-0 and then the United States 4-1.
Panama meanwhile won Group A with two wins and a single draw. They are unbeaten in the tournament so far and have beaten Mexico. They will be big favorites for today's game, although since their opening game win against Mexico they were unconvincing with a 1-0 win against Martinique, and a 0-0 draw with Canada.
