Pangu iOS 10.2 Jailbreak Rumors: Chinese Hacker Group Giving Up?

The quest towards a jailbroken iOS 10.2 has reached a screeching halt as notorious jailbreaker Luca Todesco has seemingly given up. Chinese hacker group Pangu is also nowhere to be found as updates on their efforts to jailbreak Apple's iOS 10.2 have stopped.

It initially appeared as though progress was being made on a jailbroken iOS 10.2. According to Forbes, Todesco has already released a jailbreak for the iOS 10.2 called Yalu, but iPhone 7 users are unable to take advantage of the software. It has also been pointed out that Yalu still has a lot of bugs and problems which have not been addressed.

Apple has been on a roll lately in their battle against jailbreakers. The Cupertino-based technology giant has been releasing updates left and right in order to patch holes in their system and make sure jailbreakers do not have enough time to catch up. This was the case with Todesco, and it looks like it is also the case for Pangu.

Many have been waiting for Pangu to release their version of a jailbroken iOS 10.2, but nothing has been heard from the Chinese hacking group since July 2016. Pangu's most recent jailbreak was for the iOS 9.3.3.

Because of Pangu's silence on the issue, rumors have begun to circulate that Pangu may have very well given up. It does not seem like the group is picking back up on their jailbreaking efforts. However, other reports speculate that Pangu may be working on the iOS 10.2 right this moment and that a release may be imminent.

Todesco, on the other hand, has had enough. In a tweet he posted in late January, the hacker said that "the idiocy of the jailbreak community is too much to handle" and seemingly gave up on the iOS 10.2.

No word yet on whether he intends to pick up from where he left off.
