"Paper Mario: Color Splash" should have been available next week globally. It will then be playable through the Wii U platform. However, those who have pre-loaded the game early on September 22 found that the full game was unlocked and already available to play.

It appears that Nintendo's very own systems have malfunctioned, allowing for the glitch to take place. Some users have tried to play the game to make sure that the Twitter trend was indeed real and not just a demo version. Upon playing the unlocked game, some users have made it through Worlds 1 to 4 without encountering any issues. Some even took the console offline and found out that the game still worked.

European players, however, were not able to take advantage of the accidental opportunity as it seems to have been exclusive to the North American region. Also, those who were intending to download "Paper Mario: Color Splash" while the game was unlocked could not do so; it appeared to have been removed to prevent further damage. Nintendo still has not made an official statement regarding the matter.

Official Game Details

"Paper Mario: Color Splash" was first revealed on a Nintendo Direct presentation at the first quarter of the year. However, it received highly negative reception from the public. Some say that the roleplaying elements have been drastically downplayed and stripped from the first few games in the series.

The game is also often compared to the Nintendo 3DS game "Paper Mario: Sticker Star". However, as seen from the tweets above, fan reactions who played the game are actually quite good. The official release of "Paper Mario: Color Splash" is on October 7, exclusive to the Wii U platform.
