Wolverine 3 Movie Release Date, Cast News: Patrick Stewart Announces Partnership With Hugh Jackman for New X-Men Film
Patrick Stewart revealed that he is joining Hugh Jackman in "Wolverine 3."
Stewart declared that he is excited since they are already in the talks for the film. The upcoming movie will be a team-up of Wolverine and Professor Xavier, which is his character in the "X-Men" franchise. The seasoned actor added that the partnership is something new compared to his previous films.
The news is not a surprise since based on the end part of the previous "The Wolverine" film, Logan played by Jackman has already realized his role in life. The character has embraced his superhuman abilities and he even called himself a "soldier."
Wolverine decided that he will use his abilities and experiences for the good and will not hide anymore. In the middle of the credits rolling, viewers saw that Wolverine was recruited by Professor Xavier and Magneto portrayed by Ian McKellen.
"Wolverine 3" may showcase his first journey as a superhero under the guidance of Professor Xavier. Jackman will probably start to wear his "iconic costumes" in the comic books. In this storyline, viewers can probably witness the transformation of Wolverine into a leader with the assistance of Professor Xavier.
Aside from "Wolverine 3," Marvel is set to release a couple of films in the coming years. Jackman will also appear in the next "X-Men: Apocalypse" but Stewart will not be in it since it will focus more on the younger versions of the characters. However, Stewart revealed that McKellen will reprise his role in the franchise.
Wolverine is not the only one getting a solo Marvel movie. "Deadpool" with Ryan Reynolds will also debut in another film and Channing Tatum will be the star of the "Gambit" movie. The two films will be launched in 2016.
"Wolverine 3" is set to be released on March 3, 2017 with the script by David James and the direction of James Mangold.
