PC MMO 'Tera' Heading to Consoles This 2017
"Tera," the massively multiplayer online (MMO) game for PC, is heading to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 this year. This was confirmed by En Masse Entertainment, the publisher of the Korean online game in North America. Just like its PC version, the Xbox One and PS4 version will be free-to-play and will be supported by microtransactions.
Since its initial launch, the game has positioned itself as the only MMO role-playing game (RPG) to offer true action combat. In fact, gaming experts note that the action-oriented combat system of this game makes it a perfect fit for consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One.
According to En Masse Entertainment, the console edition has been "redesigned and rebuilt from the ground up" for improved gamepad controls.
"The past five years of 'Tera' have been fantastic. We have an amazing and ever-growing player base on PC and we can't wait to share 'Tera' with a brand new audience on consoles," said En Masse Entertainment CEO Sam Kim in his official statement (via Gamasutra).
With the arrival of the RPG on consoles, PS4 and Xbox One owners will be able to get some mileage out of the revamped game with its unique fantasy setting and excellent action. According to Kim, everyone at En Masse Entertainment is currently making every effort possible into ensuring that console players will have nothing less than the best "Tera" experience as soon as it arrives to PS4 and Xbox One later this year.
En Masse Entertainment is developing the console edition of "Tera" with Bluehole, the same studio that worked on the PC edition. The game was first launched in South Korea in 2011 before it headed to North America the following year. In 2013, the game adopted a free-to-play business model and was relaunched with its new title, "Tera: Rising."
