'Peaky Blinders' Season 4 Air Date, Plot News: Tommy Gets Richer But Lonelier, Arthur Itching to Return to Birmingham
"Peaky Blinders" season 4 had a successful premiere night on Birmingham, the show's original location, on Monday. Fans got to watch the first episode of the BBC show, which will officially premiere on television on Nov. 15.
Fans happily snapped photos and selfies of the "Peaky Blinders" cast at the Birmingham premiere. Star Helen McCrory (Aunt Polly) told BBC that show creator Steven Knight thought it was fitting to set the premiere in the actual home of the show.
"It's like bringing it home," McCrory said. "You get the blessing in Birmingham."
Lead Cillian Murphy (Tommy Shelby) also sat down with the press to discuss what's next for the Shelby family in "Peaky Blinders." Murphy said the first ten seconds of season 4's first episode will immediately define what the plot will cover in the new installment.
The actor also told Daily Mail his character has gotten richer but lonelier because he fractured his family. Last season saw everyone in disarray as cops came to arrest Tommy, Polly and the members of the crime family.
The Shelby boys and their wives, however, will come together again following an unexpected event that takes place in the opening of "Peaky Blinders" season 4 episode 1. The new enemy will come from the Sicilian Mafia led by new cast member Adrien Brody.
Arthur Shelby (Paul Anderson) will be itching to return to his hometown after learning of the new threat. He and his wife Linda (Kate Phillips) have since settled in a farm where Arthur appeared to live in peace from his own demons. Deep inside, however, Arthur isn't the new tamed man he appears to be and his family back in Birmingham will need him. Tommy might also need his brothers' help as he might have pulled the last ace in his cards.
Catch how the Shelby family deals with the new threat in "Peaky Blinders" season 4 on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at 9:00 p.m. GMT via BBC. The show will also stream on Netflix but no launch date has been set for this platform for now.
