'Penny Dreadful' Season 3 Premiere Spoilers: New Monsters Are Coming to London
British-American horror television series "Penny Dreadful" is returning for its third season on May 1. What is unexpected however is that the show's home network Showtime has made available the show's first episode in full on the Showtime website. Fans of the series, particularly those in North America and Britain, can watch episode one for free and in full.
The show's third season however has the main characters of the show in different places, both literally and figuratively. The show's strong female heroine, Vanessa Ives (Eva Green) has decided to stay indoors while battling a deep depression that may have likely been caused by the events at the end of season two. She will however try to battle this with the help of a therapist, Dr. Seward (Patti LuPone). Her benefactor, Sir Malcolm Murray (Timothy Dalton) is in Africa, trying to find a new purpose in his life, while Ethan Chandler (Josh Hartnett) is back in America, where he was extradited after he confessed to committing multiple murders, owing to the fact that he is a werewolf. Dr. Victor Frankenstein (Harvey Treadaway) has turned into an addict.
According to a Tech Times report, despite the physical separation of the main characters, there will still be a point where everyone will find themselves back in London. Sir Malcolm for example, in the first episode has been approached by a Native American who told him that Ethan was in need of his help. The Creature (Rory Kinnear), who is Dr. Frankenstein's creation, despite being trapped in a boat somewhere, has also decided to make his way back to London.
When it comes to new monsters and new manners of evil that will stalk the streets of London, one of the names mentioned by some reports is that of Dr. Jekyll who is incidentally a friend of Dr. Frankenstein.
The final part of the episode also revealed a greater evil that will create terror in the city. Even without showing the "monster" himself, the show still managed to send chills up the spines of fans who are up for a bloodier season three.
