'Persona 5' News: New Gameplay Footage Offers Closer Look at Battles, Previews Persona Interactions
'Persona 5' is set to be released in North America on April 4
Numerous changes are included in "Persona 5," not the least of which are the ones that will directly impact the battle system.
Developers have already provided brief looks at this revamped combat system via previously released trailers, but for those who want an even better look at it, they can check out the new video shared by Gamespot, though fans should know that there are some spoilers for the early portion of the game also included.
Moving on now to the new combat system, viewers can see how the battle menu now features a few more options.
Along with being presented with an option to attack an opponent using a melee weapon, players can also use their guns to deal damage to their opponents.
Players will need to be careful when it comes to how they use their guns, however, as it looks like they will only be able to fire off a limited amount of shots depending on how many bullets they have on hand.
The introduction of these new firearms will definitely have a significant impact on how battles play out in "Persona 5," but there's yet another interesting combat system wrinkle included in the video.
Also featured in the video is a brief sequence where the players were able to talk to a Persona they encountered in battle. These are important conversations as well, as players who are able to navigate through them properly can talk the Personas they encounter into joining them. However, it is unclear if these opportunities will be made accessible for all types of Personas that players encounter in battle so they will have to find that out for themselves.
Players will be able to learn more about the other new features included in "Persona 5" as soon as the game is officially released in North America on April 4.
