Peter Facinelli and Jennie Garth Divorce: Was He Cheating?

Peter Facinelli of the "Twilight" movies and actress Jennie Garth decided to announce their divorce after 11 years of marriage, and some allege it's because of Facinelli's adulterous ways.

Unlike many couples who face problems after one adulterous act, a source told Scallywag & Vagabond that the affair was ongoing- much more than a one-time thing.

"Peter had been seeing another woman for quite some time," said the insider.

Scallywag & Vagabond, who also broke the news that the couple would be filing for divorce, said that although "Jennie knew," she tried her best to make the marriage work despite Facinelli's cheating. Garth's patience would not last long, however.

"They tried to make it work for the sake of their children," the confidante divulged. "Jennie played housewife for as long as she could but finally had enough."

The other woman, which the source said "does not want to be identified by the media," was suggested to be a Canadian woman in her late 20s. Facinelli and the unidentified woman allegedly met while he was filming "Twilight: Breaking Dawn" in Vancouver in March of 2011.

Soon after, Facinelli and Garth began to have marital problems, separating briefly, according to Radar. Jennie stayed at home with the couple's three children- Luca, 14, Lola, 9, and Fiona, 5- while Facinelli rented property in Santa Ynez.

This week, the couple released a statement to People.com, saying that they were divorcing.

"While we have decided to end our marriage, we both share the same deep love and devotion to our children. We remain dedicated to raising our beautiful daughters together. We ask for privacy and respect during this time," the couple said in a joint statement.

"Peter still loves Jennie," the source told Scallywag & Vagabond, but that doesn't mean he's left the Canadian mystery woman in his past. When asked if the two were still seeing each other, the insider reportedly said "no comment."

The A-list couple wed in 2001 after meeting on the set of TV movie "An Unfinished Affair" in 1996. Garth and Facinelli's marriage was often praised by fans with some commending their long lasting relationship in a place like Hollywood, where divorce is all too common.
