Phaedra Parks Heads to the Beach, Participates in ALS Ice Bucket Challenge
Summer may be almost over, but that didn't stop Phaedra Parks and "Real Housewives of Atlanta" co-star Porsha Stewart from heading to the beach.
According to Wetpaint, the cast of the hit reality show are already hard at work shooting scenes for the seventh season of the show, and Parks and Stewart took a break by soaking up the sun at the beach with their friend Kandi Burruss.
Stewart went for a white one-piece swimsuit with cutouts on the stomach and the sides, while Parks was clad in a leopard print bikini and mesh cover up.
Stewart tweeted a photo of her and Parks, captioned, "They hate to see us coming but love to see us leave! #StellaGettingGrooveBack #GirlsWannaHaveFun."
Burruss also snapped pictures of the two and posted them on her Instagram account. She wrote, "I'm @phaedraparks & @porsha4real's official photographer! Lol!...They are my #WCWs [woman crush Wednesday]."
In other news, Parks participated in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge days before her beach outing with her co-stars. She announced that she had two intentions for doing the challenge; one was to raise awareness for ALS, and the other reason why she was doing it was to honor the memory of Mike Brown, the teenager who was killed in Ferguson, MO earlier this month.
Parks' 4-year old son assisted her to complete the challenge, as he poured a pan of water on his mother.
The caption of Parks' video read, "#alsicebucketchallenge glad to see everyone participating hopefully it sparks true activism and philantrophy!"
Parks appears to be in good spirits as her husband, Apollo Nida, prepares to report to prison on Sept. 10 at the FMC Lexington Prison in Lexington, Kentucky. Nida will serve an eight year sentence for financial fraud.
