Phaedra Parks News: Real Housewives of Atlanta Star's Husband Apollo Nida Talks Tough Transition From Prison to TV
Apollo Nida is opening up about the price of fame in his first public appearance since news broke about him being investigated for alleged bank fraud and identity theft charges.
Nida, the husband of Phaedra Parks, an Atlanta attorney and cast member of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," recently appeared on the Bethenny talk show where he and some other husbands from the Bravo series spoke about the difficulty of becoming a personality on the reality television show.
"I think so coming from prison, doing six years in prison and then being thrown into a TV show was kind of difficult and I think for the first time coming off I was very quiet and kind of shy, it was just a difficult transition for me," Nida admitted.
Nida made headlines last week for creating fake businesses, false bank accounts and using stolen checks while defrauding automotive lenders, according to Access Atlanta reports. The news caused people like media maven Wendy Williams to publicly advise Parks to leave " The Real Housewives of Atlanta."
"Apollo and Phaedra, it's time for you to get off reality TV," Williams said on her talk show. "It's really bad."
While Nida and Parks have said little to nothing about the former's recent charges, their fellow cast member on the Bravo series Cynthia Bailey said her husband Peter Thomas seems to be in his corner.
"I mean, I read about it as well. I don't like to call people when I hear bad news," Bailey said on the Bravo late night show "Watch What Happens Live." "I like to call people when I hear good news. I think Peter did speak to Apollo earlier..and he said they were taking care of things. Hopefully everything will work out. "
