Philadelphia Eagles NFL Rumors: Will the Eagles Sign Jamaal Charles?
It's officially the end of an era for the Kansas City Chiefs.
The team has announced that they are releasing two-time All-Pro running back Jamaal Charles and he is now an unrestricted free agent.
He did not play much in the past two seasons due to the knee problems, but he remains an intriguing option for teams in need of a proven running back. Many will probably say he's damaged good and not worth the risk.

But at age 30, Charles still has a lot left in his tank and there should be a number of suitors lining up for his services. According to ESPN's Tim McManus, the Philadelphia Eagles may be an option for Charles and he believes the running back is going to fit in well with the team.
"Eagles head coach Doug Pederson was Charles' offensive coordinator for three seasons in Kansas City. Safe to say, Charles is a fit for the system Pederson brought to Philadelphia, which is similar to the one Reid runs in Kansas City," McManus said in his report. "Charles likely would not command a large payday given the injury concerns but has home run potential if the knees hold up," he continued.
Due to his connection with Pederson, a lot of observers think the Philadelphia is the perfect landing spot for him. The question is, will the Eagles target him in the offseason? Many may like the idea of Charles joining the team. Let's not forget that he's averaging 5.5 yards per carry in his career. That's impressive. However, others believe the Eagles should avoid signing him because of his injury history and age. The Eagles will have to weigh the pros and cons of signing him.
Charles will always be known for his stint with the Chiefs, but it's time to move onto the next phase of his career.
