Phillip Phillips Will Not Have Surgery, Says Girlfriend (PHOTO)

Reports regarding Phillip Phillips having immediate surgery following his "American Idol" win have been exaggerated, according to the girl he "loves to death."

Phillip Phillip's girlfriend Hannah Blackwell has stated that the reports concerning the imminence of his surgery have been inaccurate, and claims that Phillips will not be having surgery on Tuesday.

"Phillip's surgery is not tomorrow," tweeted Blackwell on the microblogging site. "He will be fine when it is scheduled and is excited for tour. Thanks for your concern and respect."

The tweet came as a follow up to a previous report that TMZ ran about Phillip's surgery being scheduled for Tuesday afternoon. The statement also appeared to be one of the first made for Phillips by his girlfriend.

Phillips of course, hasn't been shy about promoting the fact that he does indeed have a girlfriend who is hard for him to live without.

"She is so excited for me," Phillips told People, speaking about his girlfriend during a conference call Thursday. "She supported me throughout all of this, and I love her to death."

The girlfriend news was a bit crushing to some of Phillip's female fans, who have been coddling a crush for the "American Idol" singer since his first audition for the show. That's too bad though, because Phillips won't be offering any girl but Blackwell his shoulder to cry on.

"If a girl [voted] for me because I'm cute, and then gets mad that I have a girlfriend, then she doesn't really like the music," he said. "I'm not some cute guy who is trying to be successful off that. I really want the music to come first."

Phillips has a congenital kidney condition "that causes kidney stones to repeatedly grow so large that they cannot pass through his system," according to ABC news. Despite having undergone eight different surgeries since "Idol" started to resolve the issue, Phillips is apparently still in pain and has failed to fully recuperate.
