Phoenix Suns Workout Guards Isaiah Canaan, R.J. Hunter, Andre Dawkins and Xavier Silas

Looks like the Phoenix Suns are looking to add some depth at the shooting guard position.

According to the Arizona Republic's Scott Bordow, the Suns have brought in Isaiah Canaan, R.J. Hunter, Andre Dawkins and Xavier Silas for workouts recently, and he also noted that one of two of them could be invited to training camp.

With guards Brandon Knight and Davon Reed on the sidelines due to knee injuries, the Suns need to find someone to play behind promising up-and-coming star Devin Booker. Of course, Josh Jackson, T. J. Warren, Elijah Millsap and Derrick Jones Jr. will likely see some minutes at shooting guard next season, but the Suns want to explore the free agent market for possible options as well.

Of the four mentioned by Bordow, Canaan happens to have the most experience playing in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The former Murray State University combo guard was used sparingly by the Chicago Bulls last season, but he was a productive member of the Philadelphia 76ers during his time there. He also played for the Houston Rockets before he was traded to the Sixers.

At six feet, Canaan doesn't have the ideal height for a shooting guard, but he's reliable outside shooter and he has already proven that he can be a solid contributor off the bench.

Hunter was a former first-round pick whose career hasn't panned out the way he wanted it to. He has played for the Boston Celtics and the Chicago Bulls during his time in the league, and he was usually assigned to the NBA G League.

Andre Dawkins and Xavier Silas don't have much experience playing in the NBA either. Dawkins has played in the G League in the past few seasons and he's a solid three-point shooter. Silas is also a good outside shooter and he played for the Suns' G League affiliate, the Northern Arizona Suns, last season.

Which of them will get the chance to compete for a roster spot at training camp?
