'Pirates of the Caribbean 5' Cast News, Update and Spoilers: Orlando Bloom to Return? Jack Sparrow Appears at Disney D23 Expo

"Pirates of the Caribbean" is returning to the big screen for its fifth installment "Dead Men Tell No Tales" and fans present at Disney's D23 Expo 2015 were the first ones to get a first look of the fantasy swashbuckler film produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.

The first good news for all the attendees is the return of Orland Bloom as the charming and sweet swash-buckling Will Turner. It can be recalled that Bloom, one of the main heroes of the original trilogy, was absent from 2011's "On Stranger Ties." His return to the franchise movie for the first time since 2007 movie isn't really surprising as there have been rumors already of his return, according to International Business Times. The actor also hinted at his return previously, saying if he did reprise his role, he would be "gnarly," like Billy Nighy's Davy Jones.

"I'm of course Davy Jones now, so I'm down the bottom of the ocean. It might be kind of fun to do something where I'm rumbling round the bottom of the ocean, because I won't look anything like me. Get all gnarly," the 38-year-old told IGN.

Meanwhile, Johnny Depp, who will be playing as the wacky and dubious Captain Jack Sparrow, surprised the crowd at D23 when he came out on stage in character to tease "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales."

"Where are we?" said Depp's Captain Jack asked after walking falteringly onstage. Walt Disney Pictures president Sean Bailey replied, "Disneyland." Blinking thoughtfully, Jack responded, "Never heard of it," before he started throwing out grapes into the audience.

Joining Depp and Bloom in the cast are Geoffrey Rush (Captain Barbossa) and franchise newcomers Javier Bardem, Brenton Thwaites and Kaya Scoderlario. "Dead Men Tell No Tales" recently wrapped production, and is slated for release on July 7, 2017, according to Variety.
