'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales' Release Date, News: Trailer Shows a Perfect Mix of Old and New Elements

The infamous yet incredibly irresistible band of pirates once again set sail on the seven seas with "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales." In this fifth installment to the epic saga, it brings a perfect combination of things that fans loved in the past and new additions that viewers will hopefully be fond of.

In the latest trailer, the oldie but goodie treats start with Jack Sparrow's (Johnny Depp) return. He is his usual, adorable self who appears to not have a care in the world. As a matter of fact, he's so relaxed that despite Henry (Brenton Thwaites) warning him that he's being hunted down by a certain Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem), he just nonchalantly dozed off like he never heard a thing.

Aside from Jack, all the chaos won't be complete without his comrade/enemy, Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush). He is seen scheming with Captain Salazar in order to catch Jack, but it remains unclear if he's going to do the ghastly captain's bidding or he's just coasting through, trying to test the waters with a new threat. Nonetheless, he has always shared a love-hate relationship with Jack, so that's definitely worth seeing.

As for the new characters, the horrifying Captain Salazar leads the fray. The teaser suggests that Jack caused the Spanish captain's untimely demise at sea and comes back from the dead to exact his revenge. Other new cast members include Henry, rumored to be Will Turner's (Orlando Bloom) son, and the aspiring astronomer Carina Smyth (Kaya Scodelario).

The biggest surprise of them all is a cameo appearance of Jack, but in his young form. He is as dashing and charming as he is cunning, luring Captain Salazar into a cave that destroyed his ship and crew.

From the looks of it, the old charisma of the franchise is very much alive. This is bound to be a great recovery from the box office performance of "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" and will arguably be a great way to go out with a bang.

"Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" swings into action on May 26, 2017.
