'Pitch Perfect 2' Cast Raps in New Clip; Rebel Wilson Confirms 'Pitch Perfect 3' (VIDEO)
The cast of "Pitch Perfect 2" showcased their rapping skills in the newly released clip for Universal Pictures' upcoming film "Pitch Perfect 2."
"Pitch Perfect 2" is due to hit theaters on May 15 this year, and the cast of the movie displayed their rapping proficiency in a showdown with a European a cappella group in the new clip for the Universal Pictures film.
Audiences first viewed the video when it was introduced at the 2015 MTV Movie Awards by the movie's stars, Brittany Snow, Rebel Wilson, Anna Camp and Hailee Steinfeld.
Fans of the musical franchise should expect to hear the music of Carrie Underwood, Jessie J., and Destiny's Child as the Barden Bellas attempt to take on the world at the a cappella world championship -- a competition no American group has ever won.
Newcomers to the franchise, Steinfeld and Katey Sagal will be joining the returning cast of characters for the second installment, which include Snow, Camp, Wilson, Anna Kendrick, Skylar Astin, Ester Dean, Alexis Knapp, Hana Mae Lee, Elizabeth Banks, Adam DeVine, Ben Platt, and Kelley Jakle.
Wilson, who also appeared in the first film, recently confirmed the greenlight for "Pitch Perfect 3."
The actress broke the news to LA Times correspondent Amy Kaufman. She revealed that a third installment for "Pitch Perfect" was in the works with Wilson reprising her role as Fat Amy.
Earlier in January, Peter Cramer, co-President of Production at Universal Studios, said there may be a big possibility of a "Pitch Perfect 3" if the sequel performs well when it hits theaters this summer.
The films' director, Elizabeth Banks, who also stars in the two films as a cappella announcer Gail, mentioned there may be a possibility of the Barden Bellas going their separate ways in the third film, given that they are graduating seniors in the second. One story arc may have Fat Amy passing on the torch to the next batch of Bellas.
No news has yet been released on whether main star Anna Kendrick has signed on to join the third installment.
