'Pitch Perfect 3': Two-Thirds of Film Is Done, Elizabeth Banks Says

It has been quite some time since people heard any news about the third installment to the hilarious acapella movie "Pitch Perfect 3." Fortunately, producer Elizabeth Banks has confirmed that everything is going according to plan.

In an interview with Collider, she told them about the status of the film and how far out it is already in terms of production. "We are two-thirds of the way done," Banks said and let out an excited scream. "So we are going to wrap beginning of April and we're having so much fun, I mean they're singing, they're dancing, they're going to make people laugh, and Fat Amy's up to a bunch of silliness," she elaborated.

With that being said, it appears things are going smoothly and fans may get a quick tease as early as May. With the film slated for a release on holiday 2017, that would be enough time to quickly bring up the hype for the crooning female ensemble.

As far as the plot goes, nothing is revealed as of the moment, except for the fact that fans will get to see everything they loved and laughed about in the previous films such as singing, dancing and the whole crew together again.

Speaking of the group, Rebel Wilson, who Banks mentioned is up to a lot of hilarity in the third film, is sharing bits and pieces of it on her Instagram. Around two weeks ago she posted a video of her being attacked by two dogs on set, so that would probably be a funny scene in "Pitch Perfect 3."

The progress of events this year is proving to be a great sigh of relief for fans of the franchise after turbulent rumors cast a shadow on the stars in 2016. It can be recalled that Wilson and Anna Kendrick were believed to be at odds, but now everyone sees that things are well.

"Pitch Perfect 3" is slated to sing, dance and excite everyone in theaters on Dec. 22, 2017.
