Play as a Titan in 'Attack on Titan'

"Attack on Titan," an adventure title from developer Omega Force and publisher Koei Tecmo, features a playable Titan. The publisher recently shared Titan's gameplay in a new video.

The short clip (below) features the protagonist Eren Yeager transforming into a Titan and then taking on the other Titans and destroying buildings as he does. Koei Tecmo previously revealed that Eren's Titan form will be playable in the game. The footage is very short, roughly 20 seconds only, but it should be enough to give gamers an idea on how the character behaves in the game.

The adventure role-playing game releases Feb. 18 in Japan. The game launches with single-player mode only, but Koei Tecmo promised to add online multiplayer co-op mode in a major update. The free update will add support for online cooperative play for up to four players. The new mode will be available on the PlayStation 3, PS4, and PS Vita. In addition to the upcoming mode, Koei Tecmo will also add 10 additional items to the new game, including Titan decorations for the base. The patch is scheduled to roll out on March 24.

Before this, Koei Tecmo has lined up several other updates. The first one, which releases on launch day, brings new costumes with a New Year theme. A week after, on Feb. 25, three new episodes, even more costumes, and new weapons are expected to hit the game. The new outfit and weapons will have a "Festival" theme. Meanwhile, one episode is titled "Terms of the Trade."

The next batch of updates will arrive next month. On March 3, Halloween costumes and weapons will become available to players, along with three brand-new episodes. One of the episodes will be titled "Iron Wall." On March 10, "Attack on Titan" players will receive Christmas costumes and weapons, as well as three additional episodes. One episode will be titled "Competition for Survival." Finally, on March 17, players will get a total of 16 new costumes, four new weapons, and nine fresh episodes.

"Attack on Titan" is currently available to Japan but is expected to reach Western shores within the year.
