'PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds' News: Devs Express Concern Over 'Fortnite's' New Mode Possibly 'Replicating' Their Game

'PlayerUnknown's Battleground's' developers planning to 'contemplate further action' regarding the matter

"PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds," also known as "PUBG," has been one of the surprise hits of this year, drawing plenty of attention from plenty of gamers including more than a few high-profile gaming personalities. Now, the title is embroiled in a bit of controversy due in part to something new that is set to be made available to gamers.

Just recently, the developers of "PUBG," Bluehole Studio, issued a press release that addressed the upcoming unveiling of a new "Fortnite" game mode.

In the press release, Bluehole Studio vice president Chang Han Kim said: "After listening to the growing feedback from our community and reviewing the gameplay for ourselves, we are concerned that Fortnite may be replicating the experience for which PUBG is known."

Kim also mentioned that Epic Games, the developers of "Fortnite," have referenced "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" while advertising their game. That, Kim stated, is something that "was never discussed," and he and the other developers at Bluehole Studio are apparently not too happy with that as well.

It is worth noting here that the folks from Bluehole Studio and Epic Games are not exactly strangers. Kim even acknowledged the relationship the two studios share in the press release.

Still, it does not seem as though the folks from Bluehole Studio are pleased with what is going on with "Fortnite" right now.

It also looks like this matter is far from being resolved.

Before ending the press release, Kim noted that he and the other people at Bluehole Studio are looking to "contemplate further action" regarding this matter.

Exactly what kind of "action" the developers from Bluehole Studio are thinking about taking at this point remains unclear, so fans will just have to stay tuned to see how this all plays out.

More news about "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" should be made available in the near future.
