PS4 players can now appear offline through a new option called Online Status. The new status option could be useful for those who want to play games or watch movies undisturbed. Players can toggle this new status from their Profile tab, Quick Menu, and login screen. The offline status will remain until players choose to change the setting.

Friend Online Notification

For those who do want to play and interact with friends, Sony has added the option to receive notifications when a player's friends come online. Players can turn this notification on by going to their Friends profile, pressing Options, and selecting "Notify When Online."

User Scheduled Events

Another feature included in the PlayStation 3.50 update is the user scheduled events. Players can now create an event, set its day and time, and invite others to play. Users who registered will be added automatically to the gameplay session. The scheduled event feature can be shared with friends, a group, or a community.

Players can create a new scheduled event by going to the Events tab and selecting "Create Event." GameSpot reports players can also create scheduled events using the PS App.

Play Together

This brand new feature allows players to see what other members of a Party are playing. In this way, it's easy for them to join another player's game or start a new game together.

Remote Play

The recent PlayStation 3.50 update is also expanding the PS4's Remote Play capabilities to Windows PC and Mac. Remote Play will be compatible with Windows 8.1, Windows 10 or later, OS X 10.10, and OS X 10.11. Resolution can be set to 360p, 540p (default), and 720p. Frame rate, too, can be set to the standard 30 fps or the default 60 fps.
