PlayStation 5 Rumors: Exec Says 'There Is a Good Reason to Have PS5'

With the PlayStation 4's full-blown and massive success, fans are now looking forward to the next-gen console that could be the ultimate and most powerful yet among all its predecessors.

In an interview with Recode last year, president of Sony Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida said the big company is now busy contemplating what could be the proper steps to be taken in developing the PlayStation 5. He made it clear, though, that he has given game creators the decision entirely as to the features and design that the console will come with.

Yoshida said, "It is really up to the game creators," adding that the creators' discussions including that of options if there is a need for additional machine power for the upcoming PlayStation installment, are what makes him believe that "there is a good reason to have PS5." He also mentioned that he is giving the creators complete confidence so they can "create their vision."

Meanwhile, Yibada is sure that the gaming console will save players time getting physical disc copies in and out of their drawers since the upcoming console will allow for storage of in-game progress into a more convenient one — cloud storage.

The outlet, however, claimed that fans will get a hold of their own PS5s on 2020, which is still a long wait. On the other hand, fans have said they are willing to wait on the console and use the PlayStation 4 until the next-generation system comes out.

A more popular rumor that has recently made rounds online is that the PS5 may launch as a no-disc console, further adding confirmation that players may just need nothing but cloud storage. Tech Radar has also stated that this is true since online streaming for game downloads is already starting to be a trend among players. The outlet noted that once this kind of system becomes popular to the world, Sony might decide to come up with a gaming device that does not require a hard disc copy.

While there are so many expectations about the upcoming console, Sony has kept mum, meaning fans should just enjoy the liberties that the PS4 can offer until it is confirmed that the PlayStation 5 is indeed the best among the rest.
