PlayStation News: Sony Rewards Program Now Lets Players Cash-In Their Trophies
Some changes have been implemented on the Sony Rewards Program, which might entice the gamers to pay attention to it again. Reports have revealed that those who have managed to earn trophies in PlayStation games can cash them in for a monetary reward that can be used on the PlayStation Store.
According to reports, the changes are only valid for gamers residing in the U.S. Now, 100 silver trophies yield 100 points, 25 gold trophies are worth 250 points, and 10 platinum trophies are worth a whopping 1,000 points. The fans can use these points on the PlayStation Network, wherein they can receive a $10 discount voucher for every 1,000 points. Considering that platinum trophies are only awarded when gamers are able to collect all the trophies that a single game title offers, garnering 1,000 points may take a while.
Meanwhile, reports have also revealed that in order for the trophies to be traded into points, players will have to be signed up to the Sony Rewards Program. Furthermore, their PlayStation account must be linked to it before they began earning the trophies.
Thus, those who have been able to get the trophies without linking their accounts to the Sony Rewards Program will have to work hard from the beginning. For the most dedicated trophy hunter in the leaderboards of PlayStation Network, it seems that user Roughdaw4 might be able to put the trophies into use to buy 25 full game downloads.
To collect the trophies, each game will have instructions on how to do it. But for the more dated games, the trophies are exclusively offered during an online event. Points can also be collected for various other tasks, such as signing up for a range of different things, renting a movie, or even buying it. Regardless, the hard work is bound to play off once fans are able to earn 1,000 points.
