PlayStation Plus Free Games for October 2016: Titles Include 'Resident Evil,' 'Transformers: Devastation' and More
Sony welcomes the month of October with yet another roster of premium games for their PlayStation Plus subscribers.
The PlayStation Plus Service
PlayStation Plus is a monthly subscription service that provides players with additional premium features for their gaming experience. This includes access to beta and trial games, store discounts, and even software patches.
One of the main selling points of this service, however, is the Instant Games Collection. This gives the PlayStation Plus subscribers six free games per month. These six games are then divided into the supported consoles, with two games each for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PS Vita.
October Free Games
Just in time for Halloween, the PlayStation Plus subscription service will once again provide six free titles for its members.
"Resident Evil HD"
Now available for the PlayStation 4, "Resident Evil HD" is considered the newest title in the popular horror survival franchise. The game was just released last year and is a remaster of the original game. Do not be fooled by the age though, as the atmosphere, puzzles, and overall scare factor still holds true to the franchise.
"Transformers: Devastation"
This game is also available for the PlayStation 4. "Transformers: Devastation" was released exactly a year ago and sees the beloved Autobots once again fight the dreaded Decepticons. Platinum Games brings life to popular characters such as Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, painting them in a rich, animated aesthetic that truly captures the essence of the "Transformers" franchise.
"Mad Riders"
This off-road racing game is downloadable for the PlayStation 3. "Mad Riders" is perfect for the adrenaline junkies, as players could perform aerial stunts and several boosts. There are also 45 tracks scattered across the world with stunning visuals, heart-clenching speed, and an overall great gameplay.
"From Dust"
Face the forces of nature in this modern God-Game playable on the PlayStation 3. The primitive civilization featured in "From Dust" will be facing nothing, but actual natural adversaries as the environment constantly changes under the player's control. The people's survival is on the hands of the player, as nature is inherently dangerous as it is beautiful.
"Code: Realize ~Guardian of Rebirth~"
Playable through the PS Vita, "Code: Realize ~Guardian of Rebirth~" is a visual novel that is set in the outskirts of a fantastical version of Victorian London. The game puts players in the role of Cardia, a woman with a lethal touch. Explore her past relationships to reveal secrets that may or may not redeem her.
"Actual Sunlight"
The last entry to the free PS Vita games, "Actual Sunlight" embarks the player on an adventure with not much of visual cues, but words. The text-based video game focuses on the bleak life of Evan Winter. It features themes such as love, depression, dark humor and witty lines to give the player a truly unique gaming experience.
