'Pokémon GO' Cheats: How to Play Without Moving

"Pokémon GO" is an augmented reality game that rewards movement. Catching Pokémon, hatching Pokémon eggs, getting into a Trainer Gym or a PokéStop — all require a bit of walking. Does that mean that the lazier players will have a harder time playing the game?

Well, to be honest, the chances of taking over the local Gym or catching the rarer Pokémon are rather low for the average couch potato. There are hacks available, but what if the player does not want to run the risk of a Niantic ban wave, or worse, is just too lazy to even search for one? Even then, there's a place for them in the game — yes, one can play "Pokémon GO" without moving much at all!

A lot of "Pokémon GO's" mechanics are tied to the Global Positioning System (GPS) in the mobile device — that is, the physical, real-world location of the device, and by association, the player's as well. Regardless, Pokémon are still everywhere whether the player moves around or not, so our super-lazy trainer can still pursue his or her Pokémon career lying down. A couple of in-game items goes a long way to encourage this sedentary playstyle.

Use the incense. It's an item that a player can get from a PokéStop, the in-game store, or upon leveling up. Using it will open a 30-minute window in which wild Pokémon will be drawn to that trainer. A pink cloud will be seen whirling at his or her avatar's feet, and Pokémon will be encouraged to drop by with no additional effort needed from the player.

Even better if the trainer is already in a PokéStop. Using a Lure Module there will draw the attention of Pokémon just as effectively, and other players around the PokéStop benefit as well. Perfect for a group of lazy players that happen to congregate on one such spot — they can rest easy longer, just waiting for the Pokémon, by taking turns with all the Lure Modules among them.
