'Pokemon Go' Game News: No Official Word on Game's Official Release Date Yet

Despite conflicting reports casting a doubt on the exact release date of the first ever Pokemon augmented reality game "Pokemon Go," latest developments suggest that the game can be released within the year just as exactly planned. Just recently, Niantic released three teaser screenshots and some interesting things as to how the game will pan out once it is released, and they're indicative of the game's development progress.

"Pokemon Go" will be the first-ever "Pokemon" game for smartphones or other smart devices that run on iOS or Android. It is an augmented reality game that allows players from around the globe to go out to the real world and capture Pokemons and pit them against one another.

However, before one can capture the acute animals, a player must need to go to areas where the Pokemons can be possibly found. For instance, if a player wants to capture an Amphibious Pokémon, such as Magikarp and Staryu, he needs to go near a lake or seashore before he can capture one. On the other hand, Sandshrew and Rhydon may reveal themselves in the Sahara desert.

Little by little, interesting details about the game are unveiled. Apart from divulging how to capture Pokemon, information on player vs. play battles has also been unveiled.

"… Players will be encouraged to join one of three teams in order to compete over the ownership and prestige of Gyms. They will do this by placing their captured Pokémon in a friendly Gym or by battling with an opponent's Pokémon in another team's Gym. Gyms — just like PokéStops – are also found at real world locations," goes a portion of the statement released by The Pokémon GO Development Team via Niantics.

Despite these pieces of interesting information about the game, though, it still remains uncertain as to when the game will be released exactly. However, according to many sources, there is a strong possibility that Pokemon fans will get hold of the free Pokemon game within this year.
