Is it Possible to Get All First Gen Pokemon in 'Pokemon Go'?
It has been announced that there are over 151 Pokemon in "Pokemon GO" but there are only 142 monsters seen and known so far.
Since its release last July 5, "Pokemon Go" trainers have been filling up their Pokedexes on each passing day. There have been reports that one Brooklyn man has collected an impressive 142 types of Pokemon, but where are the legendaries and Ditto?
Does Ditto even Exist in 'Pokemon GO'?
According to Trusted Reviews, "Pokemon Go" players are trying to find the elusive Ditto Pokemon. Ditto can copy the likeness of an object or another Pokemon which had players speculate that one of their captured Pokemon may be a transformed Ditto. However, there is no official statement that can confirm or debunk the speculations.
There are currently 142 known Pokemon in "Pokemon Go" and aside from Ditto, there are region-specific Pokemon that can only be captured in certain places. "Pokemon Go" players are also looking for the other first-gen legendaries including Mew, Mewtwo, Moltres, Articuno and Zapdos.
How to Find, Capture Ditto and other Legendaries
Some "Pokemon Go" players are convinced in theories that Ditto may have been hiding in plainsight or among their captured Pokemon. According to Heavy, players have tried various ways to try to "unlock" Ditto using strange methods.
Some players have opted to take actual photos of Bulbasaur because in "Pokemon Snap," a Ditto transformed into a Bulbasaur. Taking photos of it could un-transform the Ditto but it has not worked so far.
Other "Pokemon Go" players have also renamed all their captured Pokemon to Ditto to see if it does anything or unlock the elusive Pokemon. Various "Pokemon Go" threads are rife with Ditto theories and so far, it hasn't yielded any sighting or capture for Ditto. Their efforts may be futile because it may be possible that like other legendaries including Mew, Mewtwo, Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres, including Ditto may just not be available yet.
Region-Exclusive Pokemon in 'Pokemon Go'
Instead of chasing after Ditto and the other legendaries, players can opt to capture region-exclusive Pokemon. However, these "Pokemon Go" creatures may only be captured if the players have the luxury of time and money as these Pokemon are divided all over the world.
"Pokemon Go" Tauros is a region-exclusive Pokemon that can be found in the US. However, there are three Pokemon that are in other parts of the world. According to GameRant, Mr. Mime can only be found in Europe, Farfetch'd can be found in Japan and Kangaskhan can be found in Australia and New Zealand.
