'Pokémon Go' News: Niantic CEO John Hanke Hints at When the Gen 3 Pokémon May Be Added
Previous datamining efforts have uncovered references to Gen 3 Pokémon in the game's files
Rumors throughout the past few months have hinted that Gen 3 Pokémon are coming to "Pokémon Go."
Many fans have made it known that they would like to see numerous Pokémon in the augmented reality game, which makes it easy to understand why these rumors have not gone away.
Now, there may be a really good reason for Gen 3 Pokémon-seeking fans to get excited.

Speaking recently to the Taiwanese magazine "Business Weekly," Niantic CEO John Hanke talked briefly about what was next for the game, ComicBook.com reported.
Hanke noted that there were still plenty of Pokémon that have yet to be added to the mobile game. Niantic's CEO then indicated that "the next secret weapon" would be the arrival of the next generation of Pokémon.
Hanke added that he hopes "Pokémon Go" players will soon be able to see these new creatures.
These latest comments from Hanke will likely only serve to get players even more excited about Gen 3 Pokémon.
Earlier this year, fans who wanted to see even more Pokémon in the game got their first dose of good news after the folks over at The Silph Road reported that references to all 135 Gen 3 Pokémon have been discovered in the files.
More recently, "dronpes" shared over on the r/TheSilphRoad Subreddit that references to the special forms of the Gen 3 Pokémon Castform and Deoxys have also been seen in the files.
Those findings suggest that the developers are indeed working on getting the Gen 3 Pokémon ready for their in-game debuts, though a few steps still have to be taken before they can be officially introduced.
It may still take a little while before Gen 3 Pokémon are added to "Pokémon Go" but players can now rest assured that these new creatures will be seen, and the only question remaining is when that eagerly anticipated event will happen.
