'Pokémon Go' News: On the Halloween Event, the Special Pikachu, and Generation 3
Developed by Niantic, "Pokémon Go" is one of the most popular games in the community. It features a location-based, augmented reality platform, that lets users go out on the street and to certain places to look for Pokémon.
Although the hype has significantly died down since it was released early last year, Niantic seems to want to hold, as recent reports have revealed that they have organized a Halloween event for "Pokémon Go" players. The event includes a number of different treats that are sure to make fans excited again.
The "Pokémon Go" Halloween 2017 event will bring a lot of Pokémon roaming around. Specifically, fans will see an increase of Ghost-type Pokémon, as well as any other that looks spooky enough to earn a spot in the Halloween event.
Furthermore, there will be a special Pikachu, and loveable lightning Pokémon has received a special costume. Fans can also customize their avatar by wearing the Mimikyu's Disguise Hat. Moreover, trick or treating with the buddy Pokémon will yield extra candy, and during the event, candy rewards will be doubled.
Niantic has also confirmed that Generation 3 Pokémon is also available throughout the "Pokémon Go" Halloween event. Duskull, Dusclops, Sableye, and Banette are the first Pokémon from "Pokémon Ruby" and "Pokémon Sapphire" to appear on the augmented reality-based mobile game.
Other Pokémon from the mentioned game titles will also make its way to "Pokémon Go" before the year ends. As to whether it will appear for a Christmas event, fans will have to wait until more information is revealed in the coming weeks.
In the meantime, the "Pokémon Go" Halloween event for 2017 has already begun, as it kicked off on Oct. 20 at 3 p.m. EDT. For fans who might have heard the news lately, there is no need to worry, as the event will last until Nov. 2 at 4 p.m. EDT.
