'Pokemon Go' News, Updates and Tips: Where and How to Catch Elusive Pokemon Ditto [DETAILS]
Ditto Confirmed To Be in "Pokemon GO"
Niantic Labs CEO confirmed that Ditto actually exists in "Pokemon GO."
It's been several months since "Pokemon GO" was released but no one has ever been able to catch the elusive Ditto. Ditto is a shape-shifting creature that can copy any Pokemon. In its natural state it is shown to be a purple-colored blob. Many "Pokemon GO" players are trying to find him in the game but to no avail.
Where to Find Ditto in 'Pokemon GO'
Ditto is the #132 in the Pokemon Pokedex but for a lot of "Pokemon GO" players, this spot remains empty. Since Ditto is so elusive there are some that are doubting its existence in the game. Niantic Labs CEO, John Hanke has confirmed that Ditto does exist in the game during a Tech Crunch Disrupt session, as noted by Business Insider.
Hanke teased that Ditto is in the game but it will take a bit of sleuthing to find him in "Pokemon GO." The game so far only has 151 slots for the original Pokemon and it is said that aside from the Legendaries, Ditto is the most elusive Pokemon.
Ditto May Be Hiding in Plain Sight in 'Pokemon GO'
Ditto is a normal type Pokemon but it is worth knowing that its ability to shape-shift into another Pokemon may be what is causing his elusiveness. There is a "Pokemon GO" thread in Reddit dedicated to finding Ditto and there are several theories that are listed in the hopes of "unlocking" Ditto.
It was also mentioned in the thread that Ditto was first shown shape shifting as Pikachu. This could mean that Ditto may be hiding in plain sight in "Pokemon GO" may be as a Pikachu or may be as another Pokemon.
According to Heavy, Hanke's statement did not confirm whether Ditto is currently released for "Pokemon GO" which explains its elusiveness as it can only be caught when Niantic has released it. The outlet adds that his outlet is similar to what he said when he referred to the Legendary birds.
How to Catch Ditto in 'Pokemon GO'
Catching Ditto in "Pokemon GO" may basically only entail how players normally catch other Pokemon using a Pokeball and or a bit of Razz Berry to make him stay inside the ball. It may also depend on the Ditto's CP level on what type of Pokeball will be used to capture him. It was also speculated in the Reddit thread that Ditto may also be hatched via a Pokemon GO but so far, there have been no news of its authenticity.
