'Pokémon Go' Rumors: Arrival of Gen 3 Pokémon Seemingly Inching Closer

Latest 'Pokémon Go' update apparently contains some new files related to specific Gen 3 Pokémon

A new update was recently rolled out for "Pokémon Go," and while developers shared that it contains some needed fixes, it may actually contain even more interesting items beyond the ones officially announced.

Just as with many updates in the past, data-miners dug through this latest one, and players will likely be thankful they did, as some interesting things have been discovered.

Over on the r/TheSilphRoad Subreddit, "dronpes" authored a lengthy post detailing what data-miners found in the game's recently updated files.

While there was apparently a new feature added and even some error codes, the items that were found by the data-miners that garnered the most attention thus far were the files pointing to certain Gen 3 Pokémon.

To be more specific, new forms for the Gen 3 Pokémon known as Castform and Deoxys have been found in "Pokémon Go's" files.

Four forms each for Castform and Deoxys have reportedly been added.

For Castform, this Pokémon's Normal, Rainy, Snowy and Sunny forms were reportedly present, while the Attack, Defense, Normal and Speed forms of Deoxys have apparently been introduced as well.

Castform is a creature known for changing with the weather, hence the need for its different forms. Meanwhile, Deoxys is quite a unique Pokémon and could end up being a favorite for players to use once officially added.

Now, "dronpes" did note that there were some important things still missing from the files that were required for the Gen 3 Pokémon, meaning these additional creatures may not be introduced just yet.

Still, these latest developments have to be promising for players. Even if the Gen 3 Pokémon do not come in the next few days, there is a chance that they may be officially added to the game sooner rather than later.

More news about the different additions coming to "Pokémon Go" should be made available in the near future.
