'Pokémon Go' Rumors: Will New Pokémon Show Up Later This Month?
Halloween-themed event will go live inside 'Pokémon Go' this October
A new event is scheduled to go live inside "Pokémon Go" before the end of this month, and rumors are hinting that it may be bringing some significant additions to the game.
For those who may have missed it, a recent post on Pokemon.com confirmed that a Halloween-themed event will take place later this month.
The event is expected to feature "plenty of good stuff," but beyond that, not much else is known about what it will include.
Some new rumors floating around online are hinting that it could be a special event, however.
Previously, data-miners over at The Silph Road were able to find references to Gen 3 Pokémon in the game's files. Now, at the time they were discovered, data-miners noted that the Gen 3 Pokémon still seemed to be a ways away from being released since they were missing some important elements.
As BGR recently pointed out, however, going by how "Pokémon Go's" developers have handled things previously, it would seem as though the time is right for the Gen 3 creatures to be added to the game.
That is far from guaranteed, of course, but it is at least something that players may want to keep in mind as they prepare for the event coming before the end of October.
Even if the Halloween event does not bring new Pokémon to the game, it may still be something worth checking out for players. Last year's Halloween offering hiked up encounter rates for specific Pokémon and also made it easier for players to obtain more Candy. Those were helpful tweaks, and ones that players would likely welcome if they were included in the 2017 Halloween event.
An exact start date for the upcoming event has not been announced just yet, but if it follows what took place last year, then it may go live during the last week of October.
More news about "Pokémon Go" should be made available soon.
