'Pokémon GO' Update: Here's When the First Batch of Gen 3 Creatures Are Coming
It looks like the first batch of Generation 3 Pokémon will be coming to the hit augmented reality game "Pokémon GO" as early as this month.
A leaked artwork for the upcoming Halloween event for the game, which was found after Niantic Labs released a new update, featured creatures from the Hoenn region including Duskull, Dusknoir, Shuppet, Sableye and Banette.
While the datamined information also reveals that these Pokémon are not that strong, media outlets believe that it will still be fun to pursue them especially since they are the first of the Gen 3 bunch coming to "Pokémon GO."
This revelation, either way, cements the idea that the first wave of Gen 3 Pokémon will indeed make their way to "Pokémon GO" in the coming days although this comes as little surprise.
In the past few weeks, dataminers have been discovering references tucked in the game files suggesting the arrival of the new breed of creatures. Not too long ago, sound files for the Pokémon were discovered.
The integration of these elements usually suggests that Niantic is in its final stages of adding the new Gen 3 creatures and in turn, from their initial reveal with the "Pokémon GO" Halloween event looking like the launching pad for this.
There are more than 200 known Gen 3 Pokémon from the "Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire" installments, but the ones coming to the game this month are as one would expect are the Ghost-types only to keep in line with the theme of the event they will be outed.
While Niantic is making its initial efforts to add Gen 3 Pokémon to "Pokémon GO," there are still Gen 2 creatures that are yet to find their way to the game.
First is the legendary Ho-oh, the painter Normal type Pokémon Smeargle and the Flying and Ice type Pokemon Delibird, who is expected to be unveiled this December due to its Christmas-y look.
