'Pokémon Sun and Moon': Early Look at Ash's Pikachu Shared by Developers, Special Attack Previewed

'Pokémon Sun and Moon' players in Japan can get Ash's Pikachu next month

Special versions of Pikachu will soon be made available to "Pokémon Sun and Moon" players in Japan. And recently, developers released a brief trailer showing off one of them.

The Japanese Pokémon Twitter account published a tweet previewing how the version of Pikachu donning the hat worn by Ash will look as it fights.

As WWG pointed out, the new version of Pikachu is specifically shown using the 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt attack, so it should be able to remain effective in battle.

This version of Pikachu is expected to be made available for players in Japan who have the necessary serial codes to claim it from April 15 to May 1, and then again from July 19 to the 31st. This particular Pikachu variant will also be at level 1 to start with inside "Pokémon Sun and Moon."

It is worth noting that Pikachu sporting the hat worn by Ash is not the only new version of this particular Pokémon that will be made available in the game.

According to an earlier report from Serebii.net, other versions of Pikachu that will be added include the one wearing a Hoenn Cap, another wearing a Sinnoh Cap and a variant featuring the Unova Cap. A Kalos Cap-wearing Pikachu and one more donning the Alola Cap will also be made available to players.

Release dates will also vary for these other versions of Pikachu.

Players can expect to get the Hoenn Cap Pikachu from May 3 to 15 and also from Aug. 2 to 14. The Sinnoh Cap Pikachu will be made available starting May 17 until the 29th and then again from Aug. 16 to 28.

The Unova Cap Pikachu can be claimed starting May 31 until June 12 and then it will be available again from Aug. 30 to Sept. 11. The initial period of availability of the Kalos Cap Pikachu will be from June 14 to 26. This Pokémon will then be available again from Sept. 13 to the 25th.

The Alola Cap-wearing Pikachu will be released first on June 28 until July 17. It will then be made accessible again from Sept. 27 to Oct. 9.

More news about "Pokémon Sun and Moon" should be made available in the near future.
