'Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon' News: How to Obtain the First Mythical Pokémon
The first Mythical Pokémon to be obtainable in "Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon" is expected to be no other than Magearna, who also enjoyed that honor in the previous installments of the game.
Players in the west will remember that in "Pokémon Sun and Moon," Magearna was accessible by scanning a QR code that shows up at the end of a free-to-watch "Pokémon" movie available to stream on the official website of the franchise.
This is the case for the new titles as well although VG 247 took the liberty of sharing the QR codes needed for the recently released "Ultra" games so that all players will need to do is scan them with their Nintendo 3DS system camera.
The codes will be different for players in North America and those in Europe although they can be used in "Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon" as well as Pokémon Sun and Moon." The QR code for gamers in Japan, who are required to go to movie screenings for it, was also provided by the publication.
The bigger challenge comes in getting access to the QR code scanner. Players are required to complete "Pokémon Ultra Sun" or "Pokémon Ultra Moon" by becoming the Alola Region Champion, which will involve watching the Pokémon League rise to power and defeat the region's inaugural Elite Four.
Only then will the scanner be available for "Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon" players to use. All they have to do then is simply scan the codes corresponding to their region, head to Hau'oli City and find the antique shop. A nonplayable character (NPC) delivery man will then hand over Magearna.
First unveiled early last year, Magearna is the first Pokémon from the Generation VII introduced to the franchise. The metallic, bipedal Pokémon is a Steel and Fairy type and the Soul-Heart ability.
