'Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon' Release Date: More Familiar Faces Announced

Jesse, James and the legendary Pokémon Mewtwo are not the only familiar faces returning in "Pokémon Ultra Sun" and "Pokémon Ultra Moon."

Giovanni, the leader of Team Rocket, will be back in the new "Pokémon" titles as well. This time, he will be the leader of a new organization called Team Rainbow Rocket. Fans last saw him in action in "Pokémon Red and Blue."

"Pokémon Ultra Sun and Moon" players will also have to take on villains from older titles including the folks from Team Plasma from "Pokémon Black and White" and Team Flare from "Pokémon X and Y."

According to Forbes, Mewtwo will not be the only legendary Pokémon players will find on the other side of the Ultra Wormhole. In fact, all known creatures from that category could pop up in the new games as well.

Continuing the concept of familiarity, creatures from "Pokémon Sun" and "Pokémon Moon" will also make an appearance in "Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon." As teased by game designer Shigeru Ohmori to Games Radar:

You'll see some returning characters from Sun and Moon, including Hau and Lillie, but you'll see a whole new side of them as you progress through the story of this game.

Of course, "Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon" will also make sure Pikachu gets some love by introducing the Pikachu Valley in the upcoming titles. Game director Kazumasa Iwao explains:

There are a lot of things you can do in Pikachu Valley and events with Pikachu. You can get some different outfits and other things. It's just really cool.

While "Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon" will be heavy on the history of the franchise, it will also feature a lot of new things including The Battle Agency, an area where players can hire Pokémon that fits their needs in a battle.

Winning with the hired Pokémon will reward players with Gold Bottle Caps. The more battles they take part in, the more number of Pokémon they can rent.

"Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon" will be released on Nov. 17.
