Porsche 911 Carrera T News: Release Date, Specs, and Everything to Know
Considering how many of the cars on the road today feature some futuristic technology one way or another, Porsche seems to have chosen a different path as they have unveiled the Porsche 911 Carrera T, a car that is truly a throwback to the basics of the luxury car.
The automobile market has been stirring with activity since the beginning of the year. With many automakers working hard to introduce the best for their drivers, there is no telling as to which company will receive the honor of selling the most cars.
According to reports, the T in the name actually stands of Touring, instead of the usual Turbo. Although it still features the same twin-turbo 3.0-liter flat-six engine that offers 370 horsepower and 337 pound-feet of torque, the Porsche 911 Carrera T offers a lot more on the weighing scale.
The luxury automaker has chosen to use lightweight materials from the inside of the car to the outside, which renders its weight to a mere 3,135 pounds, 44 pounds lighter than the regular Porsche 911 Carrera.
Furthermore, Porsche will be offering the newest in the lineup with a standard package that includes active suspension system, sports exhaust, and Sport Chrono. It will also be 0.8 inches lower than the regular version.
Meanwhile, the aesthetics of the Porsche 911 T offers great flexibility as it will be sold in yellow, orange, red, black, blue, silver, and white. It will also be offered with a seven-speed manual transmission that should give the hardcore drivers a reason to buy the Porsche 911 Carrera T.
The manual version of the car can hit zero to 60 miles per hour in 4.3 seconds, with the paddle shift version hitting the same speed at 4.0. The manual Porsche 911 Carrera T also has a top speed of 182 miles per hours, which is two miles faster than the other variant. The Porsche 911 Carrera T will be available in March 2018 at the starting price tag of $102,100.
