Potawatomi Shooting: Woman Shot in Milwaukee Bingo Casino by Boyfriend (VIDEO)
A Potawatomi shooting has resulted in one woman suffering a gunshot wound in her leg at the popular bingo casino in Milwaukee, according to reports.
Police are investigating the shooting, which is said to have occurred after the injured woman had an altercation with a man thought to be her boyfriend.
The incident reportedly led to a chaotic scene at the casino, with scared gamblers left screaming and running for cover.
The incident at Potawatomi Bingo Casino occurred at about 1:30 a.m. local time on Sunday, police said.
According to NBC News, a Milwaukee woman was inside the bingo casino gambling with her boyfriend when they got into a fierce argument. The argument escalated and the woman's brother tried to break things up, but eventually a gun was produced and a gunshot was fired with the woman being shot in the leg.
Authorities were called to the scene and the 23 year old woman was rushed to Froedtert Hospital. She has since been reported to be in a stable condition, and her injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Police arrested the victim's boyfriend for the shooting, and he reportedly will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office in the coming days for possible charges in the shooting.
The bingo casino was closed temporarily after the incident to allow police to investigate the matter freely. However, the establishment was open again for business by 9 a.m. Sunday morning, reports have claimed.
The Potawatomi Bingo Casino is a gambling establishment that provides table games, slots, bingo, poker, off-track betting, six restaurants and a 500-seat theater. It is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
