Almost $170 million in jackpot prize awaits potential winners of the Powerball draw on Saturday.
Powerball noted that the top prize for the lottery game still remains elusive with no jackpot winners getting the 4, 22, 24, 31, 33 and 10 combination last Wednesday's draw which has a $153 million top winning. However, MLive said that two bettors from Colorado and Michigan bagged the $ 1 million prize for getting all five white numbers.
The details about the Michigan winner have yet to be released but the Colorado lucky bettor reportedly added the Power Play which doubled the $1 million guaranteed price. For Wednesday's draw, there were more than 630,000 winners of at least $4 each.
Because there were no players who got the exact number combination, the Powerball jackpot is now at $169 million or a total cash value of $114.2 million.
Based from the mechanics of the game, the scheduled draw happens every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. (ET). Five white balls and a red ball are drawn and bettors need to match all these numbers to bag the jackpot.
A $1 million winning can also be taken home if a player gets all five white balls during the draw. Bettors will also be guaranteed cash prizes if they match any three of the white balls.
This is a big return compared to the $2 cost of the Powerball ticket. For a bet to be included in a draw, players should buyt tickets and input their bets 59 minutes before the schedule.
The Power Play add on can also be included by players for an extra $1 for non-jackpot prizes. This feature could double, triple or even increase the total winnings by 5 times its original value. The game has already offered a 10x multiplier in October last year which also gave players the chance to be drawn for jackpots less than $150 million.
If a winner gets the jackpot prize, her or she has the option to claim it in 30 annual payments or a lump sum cash option minus the taxes. The lottery game explained on its mechanics that bettors who choose the annuity option have the chance to increase their annual payments by as much as 5 percent since the remaining money will be invested by Powerball.
Residents from 44 states in the United States, including US Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and Washington DC, could play the game and getbthe chance to win great prizes. Live stream of the game is available via this link.
