$487M Powerball Winner's Identity

The single winning ticket from the last Powerball drawing was sold at a Hannaford supermarket in Raymond, Hampshire, according to the NH Union Leader. The town itself only had approximately 10,000 dwellers and the astronomical chance of hitting the jackpot is the talk of the town.

It is unknown whether the Powerball winner was a local resident who was shopping at the supermarket or a tourist who came by the town for refreshments. The last Powerball drawing is the state's 10th jackpot winner and New Hampshire Lottery Commission executive director Charlie McIntyre commented that the state "invented lucky."

The state's lottery spokesperson Maura McCann stated that it is the law in the state that Powerball jackpot winners must be named. However, personal information will not be made public. There is a possibility that the winner could come by Monday or take their time with regards to claiming their jackpot prize.

The Powerball jackpot winner can either take the cash option in a lump sum payment of $330 million or an annual payout that will span over 29 years. Hannaford, NH will receive $75,000 for being the one that sold the winning ticket as well.

The next Powerball drawing will be on Aug. 3 at 11 p.m. The bi-weekly drawing will be held at the New York City WABC-7 and Philadelphia WPVI-6 buildings.
