'Powerless' Season 1 Episode 7: Doctor Psycho Spoils Everybody's Day in 'Emergency Punch-Up'
Now that Crimson Fox (Deanna Russo) has quit on the city to move to Metropolis, Charm City is without its main superhero in the next episode of "Powerless." And when a villain takes advantage of the situation, Wayne Security's company getaway plan suffers.
A notorious DC Comics supervillain known as Doctor Psycho will be swooping right into the city to release a toxic gas just when Wayne Security's employees are all geared up for a company retreat. Will the villain problem be resolved soon enough for the trip to still push through?
Without a superhero to drive Doctor Psycho away, it looks like the unfortunate employees of Wayne Security may just have to make do with spending their supposed R&R time indoors since the toxic gas release will ultimately keep everyone stuck inside the office.

But in an episode curiously titled "Emergency Punch-Up," it seems that Emily (Vanessa Hudgens), the perky and often overly eager director of the Research & Development division, may just come up with a plan to make the most out of a terrible situation. Will her plan effectively raise everyone's spirits, or will she just end up "Emily-ing" things and making them worse?
And perhaps more importantly, who will fly by to help rid Charm City of Doctor Psycho and his toxic gas?
Premiering earlier this year in February, NBC's humorous DC-based series "Powerless" sets itself aside from other superhero series by focusing on the ordinary people's lives in a world swarmed by merciless supervillains and the superheroes who fight them.
In an interview with Empire, actress Hudgens shared that she thought the show's premise was "genius" in that it gives its audiences a view of what comes after an intense superhero vs. supervillain battle.
"You see massive cities being turned into rubble, and then just left behind and never touched on again. What happens? Where are the people that are there picking up the mess? I think it's just a brilliant new take living in a world of supers. It's not about the superheroes, though they're definitely a part of it. It's about the people trying to live their mundane lives," Hudgens said.

"Powerless" season 1 episode 7 airs on Thursday, April 6 at 8:30 p.m. EDT on NBC.
