'Pretty Little Liars' Season 6 Spoilers: 'Chaos Continues' When Liars Return, Actors Reveal
This Tuesday, the Liars and their friends will return as older versions of themselves in Season 6B of the hit teen drama mystery-thriller "Pretty Little Liars." The girls will be 21 when they return after a five-year time jump and with a new big bad to torment them in this week's winter premiere.
"It's nice to have mature conversations out of a high school setting," said Ashley Benson, who plays Hanna Marin on the show. Now that the girls are legally old enough to drink, fans can expect more happy hour-infused scenes in the upcoming episodes.
"It's so funny because the writers have us drinking in almost every scene to show that we're age-appropriate," Benson told ET. The actress added: "But it's been fun! I think all of us have had a really good time and it's fun to develop a new sense of the character."
Meanwhile, Lucy Hale, who plays Aria Montgomery, said, "The chaos still continues."
Hale revealed that Season 6B will continue to bring the drama and cliffhangers that the show has become popular for. In addition, fans will get to see how the girls and their friends have grown up, how they have evolved, what jobs they have, and what relationships they are currently in.
"There's new relationships and we're introducing new characters," the actress revealed.
"We have new secrets from each other," Troian Bellisario, who plays Spencer Hastings, spilled, adding that a lot of things happened in five years.
"Pretty Little Liars" also stars Shay Mitchell as Emily Fields and Sasha Pieterse as Alison DiLaurentis.
The Season 6B premiere episode will show the Liars reuniting in their old stomping grounds for Charlotte (Vanessa Ray), who will be appearing in court. Showrunner I. Marlene King previously teased that a new villain will be related to one of the girls and that Emily will have the biggest secret of all. King also hinted at a possible new love interest for Emily when the series returns.
"Pretty Little Liars" Season 6B premieres with "Of Late I Think of Rosewood" on Tuesday, Jan. 12, at 8/7c on Freeform (formerly ABC Family).
