The Canadian actress explained that Emily has always been tied with someone else and she thinks this would be the perfect time for her to put focus on herself.

"…she'd had a revolving door of girls ever since the series began, so maybe she needed a little bit of a break," Mitchell said.

Mitchell, however, expresses her excitement on what's in store for Emily in Season 7 of the TV show.

"I hope that she finds someone that she cares deeply about. It'd be nice to get to have someone in Emily's life that is special to her this season," she said. The publication did clarify that despite the character's actor's wishes, it remains to be seen if the show will give Emily another love interest.

And since Season 7 will be the series' last run, the "Mother's Day" star expresses her hopes that every loose ends will finally get tied.

"I hope that the girls figure this out and put an end to it," she was quoted as saying. "I kind of want things to end in a happy way."

"Pretty Little Liars" the last season will premiere this coming June 21 on Freeform (formerly ABC Family).
