'Pretty Little Liars' Season 7: A.D. to Raise the Stakes Even Higher Before Major Identity Reveal

The end is near and the loose ends are about to get tied tight in the upcoming final 10 episodes of Freeform's popular crime drama series "Pretty Little Liars." And with only a month left before the second half of its seventh and final season kicks off, tensions and curiosities have begun to rise again for the imminent reveal of A.D.'s identity.

Spoilers are not giving up enough information to help fans arrive at a confirmed answer to the series' biggest reveal. The network has, however, released the first promotional image, which shows the five Liars looking distraught at what could only be something that their antagonist, A.D., has done.

During the Television Critics Association press tour early this year, the "Pretty Little Liars" executive producers shared a handful of teasers that fans can look forward to when the series returns in April. One of the most significant tidbits shared was that the series will bring the flash-forward to Ali's (Sasha Pieterse) classroom back into play and that A.D. will be forcing the Liars into playing a board game, which could also put their lives on the line with every roll of the dice.

A.D. will definitely be upping the stakes as he/she continues to torment the Liars in every way possible in the final 10 episodes of "Pretty Little Liars." But in its first episode back titled "Playtime," the girls will be given a brief reprieve as they start putting their lives back together following Noel's (Brant Daugherty) untimely death. There will reportedly be a one-year time jump, during which time, Spencer (Troian Bellisario) will try to learn more about the connection she shares with Mary (Andrea Parker).

Nicole's (Rebecca Breeds) return will also force Aria (Lucy Hale) and Ezra (Ian Harding) to figure out their future together, while Mona (Janel Parrish) steps in to help Hanna (Ashley Benson) get her fashion career back on track. Lastly, Emily (Shay Mitchell) will try and balance things out between Ali and Paige (Lindsey Shaw) now that all three of them are working at Rosewood High.

And as for A.D., the mysterious antagonist will send a special delivery to the Liars that will not only push things to a whole new level but will also finally reveal A.D.'s final endgame.

"Pretty Little Liars" season 7 returns on Tuesday, April 18 at 8 p.m. EDT on Freeform.

Additionally, Freeform will be giving fans of the show a chance to catch up to or relive the first half of the seventh season with an all-day marathon that will start at 11 a.m. EDT and will run up to the one-hour spring premiere.
