Meghan Markle to Meet Queen Elizabeth on Mother's Day?
"Suits" star Meghan Markle is reportedly about to meet the Queen with Prince Harry introducing his girlfriend to Her Majesty. The meeting is supposedly set this coming Mother's Day, which is on Sunday, May 14, this year.
As reported by The Daily Star, Prince Harry and Markle are planning to go to the Queen for the first time as a couple. With Prince Harry reportedly planning to accompany and introduce the actress to Queen Elizabeth, news outlets have speculated on the chances that the couple will seek approval of their relationship — but first, the couple could also be asking for approval ahead of Pippa Middleton's wedding to hedge fund manager James Matthew.
"Suits" star Markle will need the approval of the head of the Royal family to guest at a royal event, according to the Daily Star. Their source added that Prince Harry and Markle are rather anxious to secure the nod from the Queen before the wedding of Duchess Kate Middleton's sister on May.
The source also mentioned that Prince Charles already gave his approval. "Meghan is headed to meet the Queen on Mother's Day," the source said. "She's already been given the green light from Prince Charles, the next step is the Prince's grandmother," the source explained, as quoted by NZ City.
Yahoo7 Be has a different take on the upcoming introductions, giving a different reason for the couple's seeming hurry to get things in order with Queen Elizabeth. According to Yahoo7, Harry is also rumored to be getting ready to pop the big question after Pippa Middleton's May wedding. To support this, the speculation mentioned a recent move by betting and gambling service Ladbrokes going so far as to suspend bets that the pair will be engaged before the end of the year, which could be a signal that people in the know think that an engagement proposal is very likely coming soon.
