Prince Harry Announces Invictus Games 2017 Will Be Hosted By Canada
The year 2017 is a big year for Canada. The country is celebrating their 150th year of Confederation, as well as commemorating various historic battles that helped shaped the country into what it is today. Britain's Prince Harry announced another big event that is happening in the country next year and that is the hosting of the Invictus Games 2017. Through a video announcement on the official Twitter page of Kensington Palace, Prince Harry revealed that "the Invictus legacy will continue when Toronto hosts the 3rd Invictus Games in September 2017."
In his announcement, he stated that the holding of the Invictus Games during such a historic time in the country is the best way to pay tribute to the men and women who have given themselves wholly to the service of their nation. The Invictus Games, which was launched in 2014, is an international sporting event for soldiers and servicemen who were wounded and injured and are recovering from their experiences in service.
This year, the games are being hosted by the United States, in Orlando, Florida. It will kick off on May 8 and will run until May 12 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. It is expected to bring over 500 competitors from 15 different nations and will feature various sports such as archery, cycling, indoor rowing, power lifting, sitting volleyball, swimming, track and field, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair rugby and wheelchair tennis, according to the Invictus Games website.

The 2017 Invictus Games, according to another report in Us Weekly, will be much bigger than this year's games, as it is expected to assemble over 600 competitors from 16 nations in more sporting events.
Prince Harry will be opening the 2016 Invictus Games in Florida, after which the report said, he will make a quick stop in Canada to officially launch the 2017 Invictus Games in Toronto. The younger brother of Prince William is the Patron of the Invictus Games Foundation, the organization that organizes the games.
