The portrait was released as part of the Queen's 90th birthday celebrations and earlier in the week, it was Prince George who gained the attention of multiple outlets as he smiled brightly at the camera with the elder successors of the throne.

In the picture, Princess Charlotte is beaming with joy as she holds on to a toy horse as the other younger members of the royal family struck a pose. According to Sky News, another great-grandchild who had the spotlight on her was little Mia Tindall, who proudly clutches the Queen's black handbag.

The Daily Mail further reports that Mia's decision to hold the great Queen's bag was not part of the script. "The moment with Mia was completely spontaneous, it was not staged at all. She just picked up her great-granny's handbag and that was it," a source explained.

Annie Leibovitz was behind the camera as the youngsters took their positions for the shot. Aside from the younger generation's shot with their grandmother, two other portraits were released that day. One shows Queen Elizabeth II with her dogs, and another was a very rare photo of her and her only daughter, Princess Anne.

The other kids surrounding the Queen in the warm picture are namely: James, Viscount of Severn, Lady Louise Alice Elizabeth Amry MountBatten-Windsor, Savannah Phillips, and Isla Phillips.

The Queen celebrated her 90th birthday on April 21.
