'Prison Break' Revival 2016 News – Michael Scofield to be joined by T-Bag, Sara, Pope & Mahone?
FOX has confirmed that "Prison Break" will be returning to the television screens sometime in 2016, consisting of 10 episodes. Both brothers, played by Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell, will be back along with some favourites of the viewers.
Viewers and fans of the iconic show had been elated when Chairman and CEO Gary Newman confirmed it at the Television Critics Association summer press tour in Beverly Hills. He had said, "It's going to bring back both brothers, [played by] Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell."
Co-Chairman and CEO Dana Walden explained that it would be a sequel where some of the characters of the show will be back along with the brothers. Walden said, "The brothers will be back. Some of the iconic characters from that show will be back."
Since the revival will also have a new audience, Walden continued, "It's going to take a little bit of a detour from where we left off [with the straight-to-DVD coda], but it should feel very satisfying and event-ized. Fans will be excited about seeing these characters back together again."
It seems that the creators are going to build a believable world and also justify why some characters are still around. One of the important characters, Michael Scofield, who was killed, rather he sacrificed himself at the end of the Season 4 finale, will have to be brought back from the dead with a plausible event.
However, with Michael Scofield returning, viewers would like some iconic characters back on their television screens.
First among them would be Dr. Sara Tancredi, played by Sarah Wayne Callies, who can also be brought back since technically, she's still alive on the show. She is, after all, Michael's wife and the mother of their son. However, because of Callies' schedule, she might come back during flashbacks and maybe her character's death will be a reason for Michael to come out if he's hiding. Whatever the reason, viewers might want Sara back with Michael.
Viewers will also want their favourite "Prison Break" villain Theodore 'T-Bag' Bagwell to torment the protagonists with his famous turned-out pants pocket. During the revival announcement, CEO Walden had included his name so it is almost certain T-Bag will return.
The other interesting character was Alex Mahone who had been depicted as character with lots of issues brimming under his skin. He would fit right in with the 2016 revival harboring those dangerous dark demons inside him.
The series will need Henry Pope as warden as someone is needed to be on Michael's side once again.
Last but not the least, viewers might want Gretchen Morgan back for the super chemistry displayed by her and Lincoln Burrows.
