'Prison Break' Season 5 Episode 2: Michael Attempts to Escape From Ogygia
Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) is alive but locked up in a Yemeni prison in the current season of "Prison Break."
The show's premiere revealed what many fans have been hoping for ever since they saw Michael die in prison last finale. He is actually very much alive, but he seems to be determined to forget his old life. It was T-Bag (Robert Knepper) who first learned the truth. The day he was released from prison, he was handed a letter. Inside was Michael's photo. The ex-convict then went to see Michael's brother, Lincoln (Dominic Purcell). The latter was convinced the whole thing was a joke, until he went and dug up Michael's grave.
There was no body in the coffin, only Michael's coat with the nametag of Kaniel Outis. Lincoln then went to Sara (Sarah Wayne Callies), but she too did not want to hope.
Eight years after Michael's death, Sara finally married another man. She and her husband have been raising Michael's son. After checking the incriminating photo again, they saw the word "Ogygia." It pertained to a prison in Yemen. Lincoln decided he would go and see for himself if his brother was there. C-Note (Rockmond Dunbar) accompanied him.
The prison guard said there was no Michael Scofield in their list. However, when Lincoln showed him the photo, the guard exclaimed that the man's name was Outis. A few minutes later, Michael, aka Outis, was escorted outside. He denied he knew Lincoln, but the moment he turned his back, viewers could see that he was trying hard not to cry.
In an interview via Buddy TV, Miller said the years that went by might have drastically changed his character.
"Michael has been walking a very dark road. He's always been a good man pursuing a good cause, willing to get his hands dirty, but his hands are now quite filthy. His sole objective in these nine episodes is to get back home to his wife and his child, but when he gets there, the question is, will he be recognizable? Will he still be in any way, shape or form the man that Sara once knew?" Miller said in the interview.
The next episode titled "Kaniel Outis" (according to TV Guide) reveals that Michael and his cellmate will try to escape from prison. Lincoln and C-Note, on the other hand, will embark on a quest to find the "Sheik of Light." Elsewhere, Sara's own investigation will make her cross paths with Paul Kellerman (Paul Adelstein).
"Prison Break" season 5 airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EDT on Fox.
