'Project Prelude Rune' RPG Announced: Square Enix Partners with Studio Istolia for Upcoming Action-Fantasy RPG

Square Enix has just announced a new role playing game (RPG) project that is being developed by a newly established game studio in Tokyo, Japan.

The upcoming game, titled "Project Prelude Rune," reportedly aims to come up with a new RPG gaming experience that incorporates a brand new fantasy story that gradually unfolds across a wide span of land that is teeming with various forms of life. The inhabitants of this land, like most other heroes of RPGs, will dare to dream and fight for what is just as they are continuously nurtured and sustained by the earth.

This will be the debut project of the newly formed partnership between Square Enix and Studio Istolia, which is currently headed by the former producer of "Tales," Hideo Baba. The name of the studio is based on the Greek word for "story." Its aim is to come up with unforgettable stories and incorporate them into games to give players inspiration to live their lives with the same determination and gusto as their upcoming game characters. They also hope to be able to bring this vision to players on a worldwide scale.

Aside from various concept art that has been released online, not much is known about the actual plot of the game. Neither is there information as to which platforms it will be playable on.

Square Enix's new intellectual property is still in very early development and the studio is currently hiring various creative minds to fill up their staff like game planners, designers, and programmers. It may still be a while before the game finally launches, but the announcement from Square Enix, plus the various teasers about the newly established studio's goals and the upcoming RPG's overall themes, have already inspired fans in various parts of the world.

Can Studio Istolia and "Project Prelude Rune" live up to their promise? Only time will tell.
